A stretched sheet of spandex acts as a membrane interface sensitive to depth that people can push into and create fire-like visuals and expressively play music. 3-D printed record

Amanda Ghassaei demonstrates how she’s created the world’s first 3-D printed records. The first among them was “Debaser,” by the Pixies. She’s since gone on to print records of Nirvana, Daft Punk and Radiohead, and spoke to Wired magazine about the project.

Brazilian Kids Call Santa on Magic Phone Booth

This is so awesome!  Everyone needs a little magic this holidays season.

In Rio de Janeiro, children can call Santa Claus from Orelhão Mágico, a ‘magic’ phone booth set up on the sidewalk by Brazilian telecommunications company Oi. Retired actors answer the calls and leave magical surprises. The reactions from both sides are priceless.
